George Strait was born  on  May 18, 1952 his full name is  George Harvey Strait. He Stands 5'10" and has green eyes.  He plays the guitar and piano. George comes from Poteet Texas. His hobbies include Steer-roping, Hunting, Fishing, Skiing and Golf. Each year he hosts a team roping event in Texas that brings some of the best ropers in the country. He was recently elected to the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.  Over his career he has released a total of 29 albums 4 of which are greatest hits packages.5 if you count his box set. "Strait Out Of The Box" Which  contain many of his big hits, album cuts and never before released gems All his albums are gold  or platinum. His total albums sales are well in the millions.  He  won the Entertainer Of The Year from the Country Music Association. Two years in a row.  He has also won Male Vocalist Of The Year and Album Of The Year. In  1992 he stared in a  movie called Pure Country, and to this day   he continues to carry on the flame of traditional country music  which isn't heard to much any more. He gives his fan what they want to hear, just him, his band "Ace In The Hole"  and his many hits. There are no fancy light shows or glitz. After 20 plus years on the road he is still selling out shows one after the other. He now holds the record of number one records for any singer  with 50.
