Tony
Barge makes his home near Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
He has spent the better part of his lifetime in the
spotlight and on-stage. He was born January 1st,
1959 and was the first baby of the new year in Lawrence
County PA that year. His parents (the late Howard
& Rose Barge) had their own band and Tony performed
regular with them as a child, singing all of the Buck
Owens songs of the 1960's. At this time he would
have been about 5 years old -- he got the bug at an
early age and has been hustling a song everyday of his
life since that time. In 1980 Tony Barge performed
at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas NV. Since then he
has appeared several times on the Ernest Tubb Midnight
Jamboree on WSM-AM Radio, as well as Jamboree In The
Hills (92) -- a major outdoor concert event sponsored by
WWVA Wheeling Jamboree, He also has made several
appearances on the Appalachian Jubilee - a traditional
country show at the Capital Theater in Chambersburg PA,
Tony has also had several stints on (TNN) The Nashville
Network. Tony Barge has shared the stage with many
stars in his career, some of them include: Hank
Thompson, Ernest Tubb, Jack Greene, Billy Walker, Bill
Anderson, Faron Young, Charlie Louvin, Justin Tubb,
Freddie Fender, Kitty Wells, and the list goes on.
On October 10th 2000 -- Tony Barge will share billing
with the legendary Merle Haggard at the Pepsi-Cola

Tony
is the co-founder (1987) of the Tri-State Country Music
Association -- an organization which serves a large
membership in WV, OH, & PA. In 1998 Tony founded
the Pennsylvania CMA -- an organization which is geared
toward the promotion and preservation of traditional
country and bluegrass music. Pennsylvania CMA
currently has a membership of nearly 400 -- of which about
1/4 are musicians and entertainers from 15 different
states. Tony Barge has pretty much clung to the
regional areas of his home and neighboring states during
the past couple of years, giving up the road in exchange
for a more stable family life. But, he has not
lightened up any at all on his stance for the preservation
of traditional country music. Tony is currently
working on a CD recording project which is being
engineered by Doyle Grisham, at Doyle's studio in Fairview
TN. Doyle is best known for his steel guitar work on
many of Randy Travis' biggest hits. Doyle is
currently on tour with the Jimmy Buffett Show -- but
in-between his concert dates he is working feverishly on
Tony's new album which is set for release later this
year. The album contains some great cover tunes
which Tony has redone in his unique style, including
"CINDERELLA" (Buck Owens), COLD WAR (Ray Price),
GREEN GREEN GRASS OF HOME (P. Wagoner)... The album
also includes some of Tony's original songs: "Mama's
Gone, Daddy's Gone Crazy" and "Fire And
Ice". These songs can be heard by clicking
